Adam Levine hailed his reputation as a “promiscuous” playboy before settling down with Behati Prinsloo for good in 2014 — well before this week, when model Sumner Stroh claimed they’d engaged in an alleged “affair.”
The Maroon 5 frontman has been linked to a number of stunning women over the years including Cameron Diaz, Maria Sharapova, Nina Agdal and Victoria’s Secret beauty Anne Vyalitsyna.
During his bachelor years, the “Moves Like Jagger” crooner was often open about his very active sex life – even admitting to cheating on an unnamed ex. He has since denied the allegations made by Stroh, 23.
The Post has reached out to Levine officials.
“Instinctively, monogamy isn’t in our genetic makeup,” he told Cosmopolitan in 2009. “Cheating people. I cheated. And you know what? There’s nothing worse than the feeling of doing it.”
In 2012, the three-time Grammy winner admitted to being “promiscuous,” telling Details magazine, “There are two kinds of men: There are men who are fucking misogynistic pigs, and then there are men who just really like women loved ones who think they are the most amazing people in the world. And thats me.”
He further explained, “Maybe the reason I was promiscuous and wanted to sleep with a lot of them was because I love them so much.”
On Monday, Levine made headlines when Stroh, an Instagram model, took to TikTok and claimed to have had an “affair” with the married singer. The crooner, who has been married to Prinsloo for eight years and with whom he shares two young children, vehemently denied Stroh’s bombshell allegation in a statement on Tuesday.
Levine first met Prinsloo in 2012 and fell in love with him – after they initially connected online.
“We started talking back and forth over email for months,” Prinsloo, now 34, told Access Hollywood Live in 2014. “I kind of made fun of him. We talked for so long via email and then we drove to LA and met for the first time. When we finally met, face to face… I walked through the door and I was like, ‘What am I doing here?’ And he… said, ‘That’s embarrassing, hi!’”
The couple hit it off immediately and dated for several months before briefly separating.
Levine – who was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2013 – was reportedly having an affair with Sports Illustrated model Nina Agdal, and a source claimed the relationship was “very casual”.
However, Levine soon reconciled with Prinsloo before quickly proposing in July 2013.
Sources told Page Six that Agdal found out about Levine’s engagement via text message and claimed the model was “heartbroken”.
Meanwhile, the surprise proposal also came just months after Levine expressed doubts about the concept of marriage.
“If you don’t get married, you can’t get divorced,” the singing sensation told Nylon Guys in 2013.
But after their lavish July 2014 wedding, Levine and Prinsloo seemed like a picture of domestic bliss.
A month after his wedding, the seemingly reformed Lothario Levine told Ryan Seacrest about the marriage: “You feel like a man or something, it’s weird. The relationship doesn’t change, but you feel a little more manly. I feel like I’m from a man’s perspective…at the end of the day, when you’re with the right person, I think the guy should feel a little more like a man.
The couple welcomed two daughters in quick succession: Dusty Rose in 2016 and Gio Grace less than two years later.
Levine and Prinsloo frequently shared photos of their happy family life on social media, and even showed off their sprawling California home in a video interview with Architectural Digest last year.
Earlier this month, the couple confirmed they are expecting their third child, and Prinsloo took to Instagram with a selfie of her burgeoning baby bump.
But the couple’s blissful marriage was called into question on Monday when Instagram model Stroh took to TikTok and claimed to have had an affair with Levine.
Stroh shared a video – which has been viewed more than 15 million times – in which she claimed she and Levine had been seeing each other “for about a year”.
“You know, I was young then, I was naive. I mean honestly, I feel taken advantage of,” she said. “I wasn’t in the scene like I am now, so I was definitely very easily manipulated.”
The brunette also shared screenshots of private messages Levine allegedly sent her.
“It’s really unreal how freaking hot you are. It blows my mind,” the “Animals” singer reportedly wrote to Stroh. “You are 50 times hotter in person. And so am I, hahahah.”
Stroh claims she stopped speaking to Levine before he resurfaced in June and allegedly sent her an Instagram message saying he wanted to name his third child after her, much to her shock.
“Ok, serious question,” Levine reportedly wrote in a message on June 1. “I’m having another baby and if it w [sic] Boy, I really want to call it Sumner. Do you agree? dead serious.”
On Tuesday, Levine responded, denying allegations of an affair but admitting he “crossed the line” by sending “flirty” messages.
“I used poor judgment when engaging in ANY type of flirtation with anyone other than my wife,” Levine wrote in a statement on Instagram on Tuesday. “I haven’t had an affair, but I crossed a line at an unfortunate time in my life. In certain cases it became inappropriate. I have addressed this and taken proactive steps to resolve this with my family.”
“My wife and family are all I care about in this world,” he continued. “Being naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that really matters to me was the biggest mistake I could ever make. I’ll never make it again I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.”
Prinsloo has not spoken publicly since the scandal broke.
Meanwhile, Stroh has been widely criticized on TikTok, with many claiming she is a grown woman who appeared to have expressed no remorse for allegedly sleeping with a married man.
She later took to Instagram Stories to speak about the backlash she received on her claims.
“Conscious people will try to fill in the gaps with many false assumptions. I don’t feel like I’m doing any favors considering how that had to go,” Stroh said. “It’s a lot to digest, but hopefully it can at least do some good when the truth comes out.”
The brunette also posted a “Part 2” video late Monday night, which she felt was “necessary” as she feels “disgusted” with herself.
“I am disgusted and ashamed of the pain and injury I have caused,” she explained. “I didn’t want to sound teary, so that wasn’t said in this video.”
