Bill Gates is turning a $43 million mansion into a troublesome ‘bachelor pad’.

Before Bill and Melinda Gates announced their shocking divorce, they paid a whopping $43 million for an oceanfront mansion in San Diego — California’s newest hot spot.

But it looks like Gates, 66, is the one snapping up the idyllic property for his own use – and he’s adapting it to a T, The Post can report.

The original six- and 3.5-bedroom estate, which spanned 5,800 square feet, has been completely demolished and is being rebuilt from the ground up at the direction of the Microsoft tycoon himself.

Gates has already dropped by twice in recent months with his two on-site bulletproof security details to review the project, local sources told The Post.

And the neighbors are not happy about all the disturbances that are going on.

“It was a nuisance,” said a neighbor.

“They make a lot of noise, my baby can’t sleep,” explained another neighbor. “It has become a real obstacle for the whole neighborhood.”

Getting permission to build in the area is a feat in itself. According to local officials, getting permits takes a while and is almost impossible. But when you’re Bill Gates with a net worth of $134 billion, nothing’s really off-limits.

Though Gates purchased the property with his now-estranged wife on March 27, 2020, construction has only started in the last three months.

Property photos taken before the house was sold show that the house was in immaculate condition. But Gates still felt the need to gut the entire property.

“The house they bought was in immaculate condition, not quite sure why he wanted to tear it down,” a local agent told The Post.

According to insiders, Gates plans to use the home in the upscale Del Mar neighborhood as a summer bachelor pad.

“When he comes in, he checks the house, goes out front and inspects it,” a source said. Current 24-hour security guards are keeping an eye on the property during construction and hope the new home will be completed by August at the latest. Although photos show the early stages of construction, it seems there is still a long way to go.

“They’re working around the clock to get it ready,” the insider added.

According to a source, Gates flies six times a month to Carlsbad, which is a short drive from his Santa Fe home — 30 minutes from the Del Mar estate.

A Gates representative did not respond to the Post’s request for comment.

When Gates is not in the area, he has residences in Palm Springs and Seattle.

Melinda, 57, and Gates announced they were divorcing in May 2021 after 27 years of marriage. Melinda explained in court filings that the former couple’s relationship was “irretrievably broken.” The divorce was finalized in August.
