Dear reader, are you ready for more “Bridgerton”? Because the first look at the “Queen Charlotte” spinoff has finally arrived. The second project in the “Bridgerton” universe is all about the origin story of the gossip-obsessed monarch, played supremely by Golda Rosheuvel in the original series. But according to a new photo shared by Netflix on Sept. 23, ‘Sex Education’ actress India Ria Amarteifio is slipping into the royal role of a young Queen Charlotte in the new show.
In May 2021, Netflix first announced plans for a Queen Charlotte spinoff series that Bridgerton fans have been eagerly awaiting. On March 30th of this year, shortly after the second season of Bridgerton landed on Netflix, we finally got a sneak peak at the cast.
In an Instagram post shared by the Bridgerton account, a caption listed Amarteifio, Adjoa Andoh and Arsema Thomas as the latest Queen Charlotte recruits. The caption read: “For her next series, Lady @shondarhimes will chronicle Her Majesty’s rise to prominence and cherished power in a prequel in which @goldarosheuvel will reprise her role and @india_amarteifio will join the sound as a young Queen Charlotte. Lady Danbury @adjoa. Andoh and @arsemathomas as their younger selves will also take part in the social season alongside none other than Ruth Gemmell as Lady Bridgerton and Corey Mylchreest as young King George.”
Details about “Queen Charlotte” have been sparse so far. However, we do know that Bridgerton creator Shonda Rhimes is on board the series as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Read on for everything we know about “Queen Charlotte” so far.

Rosheuvel, Andoh and Gemmell will reprise their roles as Queen Charlotte, Lady Agatha Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton, respectively. Also, Amarteifio will play young Queen Charlotte, Mylchreest will play young King George and Thomas will make her television debut as young Agatha Danbury. Other stars in the cast include Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta, Sam Clemmett as young Brimsley, Freddie Dennis as Reynolds, Richard Cunningham as Lord Bute, Tunji Kasim as Adolphus, Rob Maloney as the Royal Doctor, Cyril Nri as Lord Danbury and “Bridgerton”. ‘ is Hugh Sachs, reprising his role as the older version of Brimsley.
