Homer is deposed, meets Joe Rogan in The Simpsons episode

It was a comedy of mistakes.

‘The Simpsons’ are dividing critics after they spoof controversial podcast host Joe Rogan, 54, in a brand new episode that mocks abandon culture.

In the controversial Season 33 Episode 14 episode titled “You Won’t Believe What This Episode Is About – Act Three Will Shock You!”, Homer is falsely accused of leaving the family dog ‚Äč‚Äčnamed Santa’s Little Helper in a hot car led to him being publicly shamed, Newsweek reported.

Things really get out of hand when the patriarch of The Simpsons tries to apologize and accidentally pushes Reverend Lovejoy out of the church window. Videos of the fiasco subsequently go viral on social media, leading to Homer losing his job and being ostracized by his friends, co-workers and family.

Finally, the nut eater meets a double of Joe Rogan. The commentator is never explicitly named, but he is represented by a generic “right-wing podcast” host, the only one willing to meet with Homer after his cancellation.

Needless to say, the gag fell flat on many critics, with Screenrant calling it “bizarrely misguided” and “internally self-contradictory”. According to the website, what was particularly problematic was the fact that Homer didn’t deserve his ex-communication – presumably in contrast to many so-called “victims” of the Cancel culture.

Most recently, the News Radio graduate found himself in hot water after broadcasting a podcast with Dr. Robert Malone, a vaccine scientist who reportedly spread misinformation about the COVID vaccine and compared the current US health climate to Nazi Germany.

The episode was subsequently removed from YouTube, while a coalition of 270 medical experts penned an open letter imploring Spotify to create a fact-checking policy that would “curb the spread of misinformation.”
