A Canadian couple who bear an uncanny resemblance to Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have gone viral on TikTok after impersonating the actors in their blockbuster defamation trial.
Alexandra Cunningham posted the spoof video to the social media site on Sunday, which starred her husband Shane.
The clip – which racked up more than 2.1million views in less than 24 hours – shows how much of the public appeared to side with Depp during the riveting court case, while Heard was slandered online.
“People have told me before that I look like Amber Heard, but things have escalated since the trial began,” says Alexandra – who some say looks almost identical to the Aquaman actress – at the beginning of the TikTok video.
The clip then cuts to the blonde stepping out of her front door to get a newspaper before a neighbor mistakes her for Heard and immediately starts slandering her.
“Hey, Amber – catch that!” the neighbor yells and throws a tomato at her head.
“Shit, Amber!” the provocateur aggressively adds before taking off and leaving the doppelganger stunned on her stairs.
The viral video then shows Shane – Depp’s shaggy, sunglass-wearing double – stepping out the front door and getting a very different reaction.
“We love you Johnny!” yells a viewer in the parody clip as Shane walks by with a smile on her face.
“Everything you say is perfect!” another person tickles.
In fact, the clip is meant to parody the different reactions Depp and Heard get when they step out of the Virginia courtroom each day.
Heard is often booed as she exits the courthouse, while Depp is greeted with ecstatic cheers from onlookers who have spent hours queuing just to catch a glimpse of him.
Depp is suing ex-wife Heard over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed the actress wrote in which she claimed she was a victim of sexual assault.
But Depp’s die-hard fans have been voraciously defensive of the Edward Scissorhands star, insisting Heard was the real culprit in their tumultuous relationship.
The admirers then launched an online smear campaign against the Aquaman actress, accusing her of lying and “fake crying” during her testimony in court.
Meanwhile, some businesses and corporations have even weighed in on the ongoing legal drama, which is generating more online engagement than stories of inflation, abortion, or the war in Ukraine.
Last week, language-learning app Duolingo came under fire for what appeared to be making fun of Heard on TikTok.
Additionally, a Starbucks in Los Angeles reportedly asked patrons to leave tips in either an “Amber Heard” box or a “Johnny Depp” box to see who had more support.
A subsequent online video showed Depp’s box filled with cash, while Heard’s was almost empty by comparison.
“If anyone puts it in the amber box they should be banned for life,” commented one viewer.
“Put dirt on Amber’s side,” added another.
“Someone poop in the amber please,” encouraged a third, poking fun at Depp’s claim that Heard left a “faecal birth” in his bed during their relationship.
The case resumed Monday in Virginia with a psychologist called by Heard’s team who testified that Depp’s alleged use of an earphone to provide him with leads during filming was a sign of cognitive decline or impairment from significant drug and alcohol use could be.
Additionally, The Post exclusively learned that Depp’s former flame, Kate Moss, is expected to testify in court via video on Wednesday.
And as for the Cunninghams, the lookalike couple could find further online fame from their physical resemblance to Depp and Heard.
However, TikTokkers chimed in, saying the pair looked more like Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee than Depp and Heard.
Meanwhile, dozens of other commenters claimed blonde Alexandra was closer to Gossip Girl star Blake Lively’s looks.
“Oh darling, no,” one viewer quipped. “You’re a lot prettier than Amber Heard.”
