Kim Kardashian slimmed down for Marilyn Monroe Met Gala 2022 dress

Blondes have more fun – even Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian shone in the glitzy old Hollywood gown once worn by Marilyn Monroe and shocked the 2022 Met Gala by donning the historic gown and dying her hair platinum blonde for the occasion.

The 41-year-old cautiously strolled up the Met steps when her comedian boyfriend Pete Davidson, dressed in a classic black suit and sunglasses, helped her. She sported platinum blonde hair and a white fur coat that hid her infamous butt.

Kardashian wore the infamous “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress — dubbed the “most expensive” dress — that Monroe wore 60 years ago to serenade then-President John F. Kennedy.

“I tried it on and it didn’t fit me,” Kardashian recalled on the red carpet as she shared the story of her first fitting. “It was such a challenge. It was like a role, I was determined to fit in.”

Kardashian lost 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into the dress and even dyed her hair blonde to match the part – and vowed she’ll keep it that way for a while.

Meanwhile, Davidson stood by her side and ducked out of the interview to let his girlfriend shine, though she waved him into the frame.

“She wouldn’t let me wear my propeller hat,” he joked to red carpet co-host La La Anthony.

“What’s the most American thing you can think of? And that’s Marilyn Monroe,” Kardashian told Vogue.

Kardashian, who is known for flaunting her curves much like Monroe, told Vogue that she’s donning the “original nude dress.”

“Everyone wears sheer dresses these days, but it wasn’t like that back then,” she says. “In a way, it’s the original nude dress. That’s why it was so shocking.”

Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, followed suit and paid homage to Jackie Kennedy, JFK’s wife.
