Love is blind: Sal reacts to criticism of girlfriend Jessi

Salvador Perez is reacting to the backlash he and his girlfriend Jessica “Jessi” Palkovic have received since Love Is Blind: After the Altar hit Netflix. In the recently released three-part special, Perez Palkovic introduced his season 2 co-star at Natalie Lee’s 80s-style 30th birthday party and made quite the entrance with his new partner in matching outfits. During the gathering, both Perez and Palkovic tried to clear the air by having one-on-ones with Mallory Zapata, who Perez was engaged to on the show, but the awkwardness was palpable.

Many viewers flooded social media with criticism for how both Perez and Palkovic handled the situation and presented themselves at the party, with some even claiming that Palkovic was a paid actor hired to stir up drama.

On Sept. 19, Perez addressed the internet discourse by sharing a compilation of videos from his relationship with Palkovic, alongside a lengthy Instagram caption. “I just want to let you all know that Jessi and I were nervous about filming these final episodes knowing our relationship had only a small amount of leeway to go down well,” he wrote. “And while it’s been hard to see the reaction at times, we feel it’s important to express that we are wholehearted in our actions and remain grounded in the power of truth.” We can’t care what people do or don’t believe what happened because at the end of the day we know that everyone involved knows exactly what happened.”

“Please leave Jessi alone.”

Perez continued with a request: “All I ask is that if you have anything unkind to say, just leave it on my page. Please leave Jessi alone.” Noting that so many people were reporting on Palkovic’s Instagram account for being removed from the platform, he added, “I beg you to find it in your heart to stop doing this.” At press time, her Instagram account appears to be still deactivated, although her TikTok and Twitter are not affected.

He also mentioned attempts to “[discredit] Jessi’s work” as an actress, singer, dancer and choreographer with a presence on OnlyFans. “I will not tolerate anyone discrediting Jessi’s work or depreciating its value just because of this show,” he wrote. “She is by far the strongest, most resilient, hardworking and confident person I know.” Perez concluded his message by taking the main road: “In a battle against hate, love will always stand the test of time. So let’s hope you stay here for love.”

Meanwhile, Palkovic has subtly alluded to fan reactions on social media, simple tweet “lol” the day after the premiere of Love Is Blind: After the Altar. She also posted two TikTok videos seemingly responding to the backlash — one of her smoking with the caption, “Don’t fuck with me,” and another smiling in bed with the caption, “Only here to empower people and help them.” are themselves.”

During “Love Is Blind: After the Altar,” Perez gushed about his romance with Palkovic, who he met at a birthday party for his sister Victoria. “The moment we met, there was something,” he said in a confessional. “She’s such a cracker. When she’s in a room, you know she’s in a room. And she will just put a smile on everyone’s face. She’s the nicest person I’ve ever met, and honestly, I’ve never had so much fun with anyone else.”

The special also introduced Shaina Hurley’s new partner, Christos Lardakis, to whom she is now married, and showed Kyle Abrams and Deepti Vempati (finally!) transitioning their relationship from friendly to romantic. Since the post-pod episodes were filmed, two couples who tied the knot on the show — Jarrette Jones and Iyanna McNeely, and Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl — announced plans to divorce after a year of marriage.
