Maroon 5, Usher as a headline benefit honoring Rep. John Lewis

Maroon 5 and Usher will headline a benefit concert in Atlanta to honor the legacy of the late US Representative John Lewis.

The Grammy Award-winning pop band and singer will perform at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 7 during the Beloved Benefit, concert officials announced on Thursday. The event has been postponed from its original February date due to COVID-19 concerns. NBC Sports anchor and correspondent Maria Taylor will serve as the moderator for the event.

Alongside performances by Usher and Maroon 5, the benefit concert will feature a program full of inspirational community stories. Funds raised will be distributed to multiple charitable beneficiaries who prioritize economic and community development.

The Beloved Benefit was inspired by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of a beloved community where people work together to solve social problems ranging from racism and poverty to hunger and homelessness.
