Finally he gets his rose.
Zach Shallcross was revealed to be the newest “Bachelor” on the reality show’s 27th season.
Shallcross, 26, starred in the final season of The Bachelorette. Host Jesse Palmer announced that the Anaheim, Calif., tech exec will be the next Bachelor at Tuesday’s live finale.
“He’s been a frontrunner for a while,” a production source told Page Six. “There’s no denying that audiences love him.”
While on The Bachelorette season 19, things got rocky between Shallcross and lead actress Rachel Recchia, who feared the then 25-year-old was too young for a long-term commitment. While he made it into Recchia’s last four, things quickly fell apart.
“I was kind of shocked and in disbelief at what happened between us,” Shallcross said onscreen during the finale. Recchia said their departure was “hard to look back on” because her feelings for him were “real.”
His biography on ABC describes him as an “old-fashioned romantic” who has a “big heart that he’s so willing to share with the right woman forever.” His fun facts include that he would love to be Spiderman for a day and that he doesn’t like breakfast because “eggs don’t suit him”. And his perfect woman is compassionate and “romance ready” as he likes to “lay it on the bold” and plan “thoughtful surprises.”
The 6-foot-4 California native also has a famous uncle — character actor Patrick Warburton, 57, who is best known for being one of Elaine’s friends on “Seinfeld,” “The Tick,” and “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” to play.
His Instagram is full of photos of him playing soccer, engaging in outdoor activities like boating, and hanging out with his family.
Shallcross season of “The Bachelor” premieres Monday, January 23 on ABC.
