Tom Cruise Jokes ‘The Late Late Show’ James Corden Was Fired

Tom Cruise is ready to show James Corden the money.

The “Top Gun: Maverick” star quipped during an appearance on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” Tuesday and offered to give the CBS host money since he was “fired.”

Corden, 43, announced last Thursday that he would no longer host his late-night talk show by 2023, but was not fired.

cruise, 59, said he’s sorry The “Into the Woods” star was fired from his talk show when he was announced by Cordon outside his dressing room.

“It’s such a privilege to be here. I’m sorry about the news, I’m sorry you got fired,” Cruise quipped.

“I’ll be there for you tonight, whatever you need,” he continued. “I wouldn’t have fired you. I’ll be there for you if you need anything.”

Corden thanked the “Mission: Impossible” actor and asked if he could borrow money, to which Cruise replied that he actually meant “everything.”

Later in the show, Cruise officially took the stage, where Corden noted that it had been nearly four years since Cruise last appeared on the show.

“It’s amazing to be here, to see everyone and to see you and to be alive,” Cruise said.

The Late Late Show is yet to release an official date of Corden’s departure.
